A Start

She came up to me yesterday and with a grin said, "Merry, tomorrow is the start of our dreams."  We planned our outfits and shared smiles like we had a secret.

Today, I took my first ballet class with my sweet little sister.  For years I have thrown, twirled, and dipped her around our living room as we danced to whatever music came to mind first.  I've watched as her lines are pin straight, her movements controlled, and her improv is much too advanced for her age. She has natural talent, loads of it.  Our homeschool co-op miraculously had a ballet class and we've looked forward to it for weeks now.  I love dance; I always have.  Dance classes are just too expensive for my family, so I've simply dreamed away with her about someday becoming dancers.  I've known that I would love it, but most of all I would be ecstatic to watch her blossom.  I wasn't wrong.  It's our thing, this wonderful pattern of twirls, leaps and pointed toes, and I've loved every minute of it, from Josh Groban dance parties in pajamas, to finally this group of tutu clad girls today.

  2. This is so amazing. How sweet that you and your younger sister are doing this together. How I long for a relationship that close to my own sister. Enjoy yourselves. And keep us posted on how its going!
