Of Bucket Lists and Living my Dreams

I have a little box in my bedroom filled to the brim with Dove chocolate wrappers. I love finding the ridiculously random ones like "You look good in red." I keep them all, no matter how cheesy. I was looking through my collection one day when I found two of the cheesier kind, both about living your dreams. One said simply "Live your dreams" and the other said "Go out there and make your dreams happen." I was suddenly inspired. I was going to make a Live your Dreams collage! Have you heard of anything so self-indulgent and girly? Neither have I, and I'm so stinkin' excited about it!

Over Christmas break my sisters and I spent a lot of time writing bucket lists and narrowing them down 'current age' Before 'next birthday' lists. So of course that means that I wrote a 'Thirteen Before Fourteen' list. In the process of doing this, I discovered I have very high expectation for the things I can do in less than a year. My list includes:
-improve handwriting
-try as many different smoothies as possible
-road trip to north shore
-do yoga regularly-actually, any exercise is a plus
-read Nehemiah
-create a personal gallery of at least ten favorite picture taken by ME
-try all Chobani flavors available in one sitting, if possible
-learn Creation Sings on the piano
-go on an extremely long hike
-spend the night under the stars, on a roof
-read twenty books
-spend the year wholeheartedly following God
Maybe I'll succeed with all these, we'll just have to wait and see.

In a moment of pure genius -in reality it was a DUH moment-, I decided that I would combine my Live your Dreams collage with my bucket list AND my Thirteen Before Fourteen list! I have already put both my lists on my bedroom wall and stuck the Dove wrappers up with 'em. Now I just have to add pictures of my dreams. HA, you have no idea how fun it is to say that! I'll add pictures of visiting Europe, dance, photography, sign language and all the other things I hope to do all my life. It's gonna be the best. I love thinking about doing all those things and wondering who I'm going to do them with, what kind of person I'm going to be and what it's going to be like. Ultimately, I've come to the conclusion that making bucket lists and Live your Dreams collages is a thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable way to pass you Christmas vacation!

  1. Your Thirteen Before Fourteen list makes me smile! Also, I feel like the "Spend the night under the stars, on a roof" just might be grand as a 4 Youngmann Sisters + 4 Davis Sisters event!
And, your collage idea sounds lovely and brilliant.
