Fighting Abortion with Sugar Cookies

Rolling the cookie dough out, cutting it into hearts, putting them into the oven, getting them out.... I repeated these 4 steps over and over last night. When I woke up this morning, I tied ribbon around a small bag already containing a big heart cookie and a Care♥Net card. A very satisfying box of 90 cookie baggies met my eyes after some 20 minutes of working. All for what, you might ask.
For the Care♥Net booth at Mayfest! My sisters and I, plus our friend, have been doing volunteer work at Care♥Net, a Christian organization which gives help and support to young girls and/or women considering abortion. 'Course they have lots of other outreaches that they're working on, but let's get back to original story! :) To get their name out there, Care♥Net did a booth in the Mayfest the community fair that place this afternoon. We passed the cookies with the card out, invited people in to see some of the stuff we have set up-which included a bunch of informational fliers, pins, shirts, etc- gave balloons out, painted faces, and had a great time together. We ran out of the cookies within the first 30 minutes, which is good and bad! We really hope that people really take a look at the cards that got passed out and if they could benefit from the great support Care♥Net is able to give, walk up the steps, onto the porch of a small yellow building on Silver St.

  1. I can not believe that you said absolutly nothing about my part in the mayfest. Ya know like making random balloon animals and even somthings that I don't know what they were.

  2. I don't like using names in my posts, you know that! Besides, the "and had a great time together" part was absolutely including you.
